Formore was founded in 2012 with a pretty simple mindset: do good work, be good to people, and hopefully the rest takes care of itself. There wasn’t a perfectly polished plan in the early days. No grand agency manifesto. Just a lot of ambition, a laptop, and a willingness to figure things out as we went along.
The first few years were built on graft. Long days, questionable amounts of caffeine, saying yes to almost everything, and learning quickly. Within the first year, Formore had picked up nine clients ranging from established businesses to ambitious tech startups, which felt both exciting and slightly terrifying in equal measure.
By 2014, the business had grown enough to hire its first team member, which made everything suddenly feel a bit more real. A year later, we were winning fintech accounts in the City of London that genuinely felt out of reach just a few years earlier. The team kept growing, the projects got bigger, and slowly but surely Formore started becoming the agency we’d imagined it could be.
In 2017, things took another step forward when our viral ‘Bring Your Dog to Work Day’ campaign for pet food brand Hownd picked up industry recognition. It was one of those moments where you realise creative ideas can travel a very long way when people genuinely connect with them. It also confirmed that dogs are, unsurprisingly, very good for engagement.
The years that followed were less about overnight success stories and more about consistency. Clients stayed with us. New ones came through recommendation. We expanded our services, sharpened our creative output, and kept learning through every campaign, website launch, strategy session, and last-minute deadline.
In 2024, Formore completed a strategic asset acquisition from Manchester’s Forever Agency, bringing in both clients and creative portfolio as part of the next stage of growth. It was an exciting milestone for the business and a reminder of how far things had come from those early one-man-band days.
Today, Formore is recognised for one of the strongest creative portfolios in Manchester, working across strategy, creative, digital, social, SEO, CRM and development for brands ranging from ambitious challengers to internationally recognised businesses. The scale may have changed since 2012, but the mindset really hasn’t. Work hard. Stay curious. Treat people properly. Don’t overcomplicate things. And try to make marketing people actually remember.
